Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu: Physical Self-Defense Techniques
Striking Techniques
The art of Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu uses self-defense strikes (open palms, hammer-fists, finger pokes, elbows, face rakes); conventional boxing strikes (jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts); leg, and knee strikes.
Self-Defense Techniques
Students are taught self-defense techniques from a striking adversary and an adversary who attempts to grab and/or choke. Defenses from common chokes and grabs include (but are not limited to) front chokes, back chokes, lapel grabs, pushes, headlocks, hair pulls, pulling wrist grabs, bear hugs, tackle defense, if pinned or pushed against a wall, and multiple attackers.
Ground Survival
The art of Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu teaches students how to survive if an altercation goes to the ground. Street grappling techniques that focus on striking vital areas of the adversary are taught, allowing a student to end the altercation quickly and return to his/her feet. The art of Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu includes a ground curriculum that includes positioning, joint manipulations, chokes, sweeps, and ways to control your adversary on the ground.
Rape Prevention
One of the most important aspects of the Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu program is the rape prevention training. Women (and men) learn how to gain control of the situation, as well as ways to quickly remove an adversary if he or she is on top of you. Students learn to use correct body mechanics and strikes to subdue larger adversaries. The rape prevention techniques combined with the ground survival aspect of our curriculum allow the students to feel confident if an altercation ends up on the ground.
Jiu-Jitsu Joint Manipulations
Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu includes small joint manipulations that focus on controlling an adversary’s wrist and hand. Applying joint manipulations are an effective way to control an adversary without excessive force. The manipulations allow women to quickly control the adversary and the situation.
Ukemi
Ukemi, or the art of rolling and falling, is included in the system of Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu. Ukemi teaches students how to protect themselves if they fall or are pushed onto the ground or into a wall.
Use Everyday Items For Protection
Learn how to use everyday items to defend yourself. Students learn how to use items such as keys, water bottles, purses, and pens to defend themselves.
Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu for women is a great way to learn self-defense, increase your confidence level, overall fitness levels, and increase the safety of your family.
