Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu Youth Training Program Ages 7-15
The Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu children’s program is an exciting program for children and adolescents ages seven to fifteen, who want to learn how to realistically defend themselves and increase their confidence. The program focuses on developing the students’ minds and bodies, to not only defend themselves, but to also teach valuable life skills.
The curriculum is based off the Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu adult curriculum where realistic self-defense is the main focus. Soke-Dai Bochner designed a curriculum that would create students who were respectful, disciplined, determined, and understand the value of hard work. The teaching style is similar to a training academy where everyone is working at the same time. Students learn at their own pace and develop self-defense skills in:
Proper Footwork
Punching and Kicking
Blocking
Verbal Diffusing - Talking their way out of an altercation
Takedowns
Self-Defense Against Punches, Grabs, Chokes
Grappling/Ground Self-Defense
Sparring
Students perform their self-defense techniques against adult adversaries and are required to defend themselves against resisting an adult in a padded attack suit.
The confidence that the students develop from knowing they are able to successfully defend themselves against an adult attacker will carry over in all aspects of their life.
