New Book Aims To Keep Children And Adolescents Safe From Bullying, Sexual Predators, And Child Abduction Attempts

(9/3/2011 – Cranston, Rhode Island) Childhood should be a time of bliss for parents and children alike. The innocence of youth and the security of knowing that your parents will protect you, allow children to thrive into adulthood. But what if that innocence is lost?

In a society where approximately 800,000 children younger than 18 are reported missing each year, approximately 2,200 per day and an astounding 2.7 million children are bullied each year, it is important that parents and children can learn how to increase their overall safety, awareness, prevent possible child abductions, and avoid online sexual predators.

A self-defense instructor with twenty years of experience, Marc Bochner has just released his book Realistic Self-Defense for Parents, Children, and Adolescents (September 2011/ CreateSpace) that teaches parents and their children how to increase their overall safety, avoid dangerous situations, and physically defend themselves against a larger, adult adversary. Topics include listening to your intuition, using instinctual responses, ways to talk your way out of altercations, internet safety, strategies for dealing with bullying, and physical self-defense techniques against common punches, chokes, grabs. Ground survival techniques and rape prevention techniques are taught to combat the instance that an adversary forces a child onto the ground.

Realistic Self-Defense for Parents, Children, and Adolescents is 290 pages with over 500 computer generated images that beautifully illustrate the concepts and techniques. Written over three years and based on Bochner’s twenty years of martial arts experience, the manual is designed as a comprehensive guide for parents and their children to learn and practice in the comfort of their home. No prior martial arts or self-defense training is needed.
