Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu: Realistic Self-Defense - Children Program (Ages Eight and Up)

The Kuntao Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Program’s is for children 8 and over. Our main objective is realistically teaching your child how to   defend themselves and prevent possible abduction.

Based off the adult curriculum the children learn realistic self-defense concepts such the correct way to verbally defuse situations, being aware of their surroundings, and how to trust their instincts. For the physical aspect of our training program our students learn proper striking using their hand, elbows, legs, and knees. We train our children to defend against choke and grab defenses using impact reduction suits which allows them to perform their techniques using actual force. This also allows the instructors to notice any deficiency in their training. The children often do their self-defense techniques on members of the adult class, so they become accustomed to defending against much larger adversaries.

We make it a point that our children understand when it is appropriate to use their training and when it would be better suited to tell and adult or teacher about a potential problem. Our students are highly disciplined and learn the value of hard work, determination, self-confidence and respect throughout their training.

Our extensive curriculum, the method in which we teach it, and it's practical application for our younger students cannot be found anywhere else. The curriculum is challenging, but with anything in life, the harder the challenge the more rewarding the journey. To receive a BlackBelt in our youth curriculum takes a minimum of 4 years of hard training and a minimum of 13 years of age.

To receive a BlackBelt you must have passed all subsequent belt examinations, mastered all the techniques and self-defense concepts, completed all live training (grappling and sparring rounds), completed all assistant instructor hours and be of the utmost character for a young adult.
